# Refunds

- `amount` is cents of the charged total; omit it to refund everything left.
- `reason`: `requested_by_customer` (default), `duplicate`, `fraudulent`, `other`.
- Any card surcharge is refunded in proportion, as card network rules require. The last refund takes any rounding remainder, so a fully refunded payment always returns the whole surcharge.
- You can't refund more than was charged, even with refunds in flight at the same time.
